Fear:

• Shape: six thin strips curving into organic shapes
• Figure/ground relationship: Reversible
• Color: highly saturated cyan
• Texture: wrinkled/creased
• Scale: thin, small, yet activates the picture plane

Sadness:

• Shape: large organic shape with holes
• Figure/ground relationship: Reversible
• Color: highly saturated lavender
• Texture: wrinkled with sections that are smooth symmetrical organic patterns
• Scale: large, imposing

Similarities: Wrinkled texture, organic shapes, dynamic and reversible compositions

Contrasts: The Fear composition is mostly negative space, the shape used in the Sadness composition dominates the picture plane and has symmetrical patterns with a different texture
